Who is Lord Krishna? Is he the same as Vishnu and Mahesh?

Lord Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism and is considered as the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu incarnates on Earth in various forms or avatars to restore balance and righteousness when evil and chaos prevail.

Lord Krishna is also believed to be the author of the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita, where he imparts teachings to the warrior Arjuna on the nature of life, duty, and ultimate reality.

Mahesh, or Lord Shiva, is another major deity in Hinduism, often depicted as the destroyer of the universe in order to bring forth a new creation. While Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu are often associated with preservation and protection, Lord Shiva's role is to destroy and transform.

While Lord Krishna is considered as an avatar of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva is a separate deity altogether. They are both important and revered deities in Hinduism but with distinct attributes and roles.
