How many incarnations of Lord Ram were there before him?
In Hindu mythology, Lord Rama is believed to be the seventh incarnation (avatar) of the god Vishnu. According to the Puranas, which are ancient Hindu texts, there are ten primary avatars of Vishnu, and Lord Rama is one of them.

However, there is no mention of any previous incarnations of Lord Rama before him in Hindu scriptures. Lord Rama is considered to be the first and foremost avatar of Vishnu in the Treta Yuga, which is one of the four yugas or cosmic ages in Hinduism. The other nine incarnations of Vishnu are Matsya (the fish), Kurma (the tortoise), Varaha (the boar), Narasimha (the half-man, half-lion), Vamana (the dwarf), Parashurama (the warrior sage), Krishna (the cowherd prince), Buddha (the enlightened one), and Kalki (the future avatar). Each of these avatars has a specific purpose and role in Hindu mythology and is associated with different aspects of the divine.
